Recognizing Outstanding Performance at Pickaway Correctional Institution

Congratulations to Dennis Osborne, Todd Clary, and JD Ousley for their exceptional work on the PCI Housing Complex project at Pickaway Correctional Institution.

Throughout this year, this team has worked diligently to install a complete air and weather barrier system across four buildings. The project remains ongoing, but the team’s achievement to date is remarkable: every required ABAA audit has been passed on the first review with zero demerits.

For projects of this scale and complexity, the Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA) requires certified installation practices and independent audits conducted by an ABAA-certified third-party auditor. These audits involve rigorous inspection and testing of the installation, including membrane thickness, adhesion, detailing, and overall workmanship. On the PCI Housing Complex project, four audits were required, and the Miles-McClellan team successfully passed all four.

This accomplishment speaks not only to the quality of the finished product but also to the discipline required behind the scenes. ABAA compliance demands extensive daily documentation, internal quality control testing, and meticulous recordkeeping throughout the project. Any deficiency can result in audit demerits, making a perfect record particularly significant.

The complexity of the work also required extensive coordination with framing, roofing, and masonry trade partners to ensure critical building envelope details were executed correctly at every stage. For more than ten months, the team has worked closely alongside our masonry crews while maintaining the high standards required of an ABAA-certified contractor.

A clean sweep through every audit is a testament to the leadership of Dennis Osborne and the dedication of Todd Clary, JD Ousley, and the entire project team. Their commitment to quality, accountability, and craftsmanship reflects the standard we bring to every caulking and air barrier project.
