The building, also housing KaVo, provided the necessary space, yet significant renovations were required to modernize the environment and accommodate Planmeca’s advanced equipment, technology and evolving operational needs.

- A training center training center to host staff and client education
- Offices for administrative and support teams
- A milling room equipped for 10 heavy desktop machines
- Upgraded entryway and cafeteria refresh
- A new breakroom for employees
- Vacuum and suction line infrastructure for dental chair rooms
- Extensive lighting upgrades
With precision and collaboration at the forefront, the project required a general contractor who could deliver exceptional results on time and within the $1.5 million budget. The primary architect for the project, Intec, had previous experience with Miles-McClellan and requested we enter the competitive bid process for the project.
The Process
From the outset, we helped provide a preliminary budget and value engineering expertise to help the architects fully finish the plan for execution. With the specific directive to complete the project by 2025, we started in May 2024, finishing in December; on time and on budget.
Our primary focus in renovating the space was to create a facility fit for Planmeca’s needs, including ample space for their equipment and setting the tone for their on-site brand experience. The areas we built were specifically designed for client demonstrations and training.
We transformed the front-of-house space from what had once been a tired, outdated office area on the manufacturing side of the plant into a modern, hybrid environment tailored to the client’s needs. The previous space, with its aged ceiling tiles and drab finishes, did not reflect the innovation of Planmeca. With direction from the overseas corporate owners, who had a precise vision for the renovation, we delivered a clean, contemporary aesthetic that mirrors the feel of a medical clean room. Crisp white finishes, meticulous detailing and abundant lighting were used throughout to achieve the pristine, high-tech look the client required, creating a space that feels both welcoming and reflective of their advanced dental technology.
This project design required extra precision. The owners envisioned a pristine, clinical aesthetic — meaning clean white finishes, flawless installation and lighting that left no room for imperfections. Even the flooring was carefully considered: white tiles sourced from South Korea required special protection after furniture installation, leading us to apply a custom sealant and connect the client with an ongoing floor maintenance partner.
What was once an underutilized, dated office space is now a crisp, modern facility that seamlessly blends functionality with brand identity.
