The Approach
Carolina Telco Federal Credit Union was relocating from an older space to a new location nestled in a walking neighborhood. They needed an updated environment that fit their new brand image and provided easy walk-up access for members. Because this was the union’s third project with Miles-McClellan, the client knew they could trust our team’s reliability and requested a proposal for the renovation.
The client’s timeline was incredibly tight, requiring an eight-week turnaround to ensure the branch was completed prior to a planned grand opening. To accomplish this, our team knew the process had to move quickly, and materials needed to flow through highly efficient pathways to avoid delaying the project.
The Process
From the start, this fast-paced project demanded a high level of logistical planning and adaptability. To meet the aggressive schedule, our team worked closely with the permitting office to expedite reviews and get permits issued quickly. Additionally, multiple contractors committed to working on weekends and after hours to ensure the project stayed on track.
As with most construction projects, some unexpected challenges arose. Mid-project, the owner decided to add an exterior walk-up ATM as a last-minute change. Our team immediately pivoted, demonstrating their adaptability by rearranging the interior layout and making necessary adjustments to the cabinetry to accommodate the new feature. This seamless problem-solving was made possible by the strong, established relationship we shared with the project’s design team, architect, and engineers from our previous work together.
In the end, our project management and field teams successfully turned over a top-tier space that hit all three major goals: on time, on budget, and to the highest quality. The client expressed deep appreciation for the team’s ability to meet the demanding schedule and noted the value they place on their ongoing relationship with Miles-McClellan.
