Craig started his construction career in 2003, working for a concrete contractor. He joined Miles-McClellan in 2005 and has moved his way up to Project Executive, overseeing a team of 4. When Miles-McClellan won the Honda Aircraft World Headquarters and R&D Facility project ($52M), Craig and his family moved to NC to run this project, which was his first project as a project manager. Craig has since moved back to Ohio and been involved in The Ohio State University’s North Residential District project (2 buildings, $58M), constructed a TRU by Hilton ($10M), and a $20M condominium complex. Craig is leading the strategy and operations to grow Miles-McClellan’s new concrete division.
How did you get into construction?
I began working at an apartment complex as a ground’s keeper and cleaning/renovating apartments when tenants moved out during the summers in high school. This transitioned into working for a small residential/light commercial contractor owned by my girlfriend’s father (current father-in-law) during college, and the rest is history.
What is your most memorable project?
Honda Aircraft Company Corporate Office Headquarters and R&D Building in Greensboro, NC. This was my first project as a project manager, and it’s still the largest project in Miles-McClellan’s history.
What is the best part of your job?
I enjoy leading my team from project planning through execution. I take pride in delivering our clients their desired facility to move forward with their initiatives to better our community.
Best compliment anyone could give you:
Your team is always the “easy button.” Meaning they are willing to help with issues and seek to find solutions rather than place the burden on others.
Besides being a taxi for my three boys and their sports, I enjoy playing soccer, camping, boating, snowboarding, and skiing.
What is something that people don’t know about you?
I have two middle names, Michael and Brightmore. Brightmore is a family name passed down from my mother’s side of the family.
